Apple Updates it’s iMac with Intel processors and an improved Webcam

Apple has finally decided to upgrade the processors of it’s iMac with the Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake processors and at the same time upgrading the Webcam quality to 1080p HD sensors. Till this time all the Mac computers were equipped with a low resolution 720p sensors and hence this upgrade is sure to an important upgrade. Apart from just an improved resolution Apple also says that there will also be a bunch of other functionalities added like face detection, tone mapping and exposure control, etc all thanks to the T2 chip.

Although the iMac will now have the T2 chip but still it won’t have any biometric login options. Same is the case with face detection, the iMac won’t support face unlock as well. The face detection is to just ensure that the face is properly exposed during video calls. But at the same time one interesting feature that will come with T2 chipset is that now the iMac will support “Hey Siri” commands.

One more interesting feature with the newest upgrade is that now the iMac will be coming with a nano coating which will bring back the matte look back to the iMac devices.

Moving forward the iMac can have 128GB of DDR4 RAM. Standard graphics will include AMD’s Radeon 5300 or 5500XT, with the 5700XT with 16GB VRAM(Video Random Access Memory) that will be available as an upgrade.

Talking about the design part, there has not been too much of an upgrade, infact the 2020 iMac is exactly same as the previous iMac with large bezels all around and a big chin.

Moving on to the price at which these are available, the 27-inch iMac starts at $1,799 whereas the 21.5-inch iMac starts at $1,099. Apple is also giving the iMac Pro a small spec bump, making the 10-core Intel chips the new baseline for $4,999.
